Cheryl Toussaint
Cheryl Toussaint ( Cheryl Renee Toussaint ; born December 16, 1952 in Brooklyn ) is a former American middle-distance runner and sprinter .
At the Pan American Games in 1971 , she won gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the US team.
The following year she was eliminated from the Olympic Games in 1972 in Munich over 800 m in the lead. In the 4 x 400 meter relay she won the silver medal in 3: 25.15 minutes behind the GDR relay with the US quartet consisting of Mable Fergerson , Madeline Manning-Jackson , Toussaint and Kathy Hammond 3: 22.95 min set a world record.
In 1970 and 1971 she was US champion over 880 yards and 800 m outdoors, in 1972 and 1973 over 880 yards indoors.
