Chet Huntley

Chet Huntley (born December 10, 1911 in Cardwell , Montana , † March 20, 1974 in Big Sky , Montana) was an American journalist , news anchor and television presenter .

Life

Huntley attended Whitehall High School in Whitehall and Montana State College in Bozeman , Montana. Huntley graduated from the University of Washington . He began his professional career in Seattle with the radio station KIRO AM and later worked for radio stations in Spokane (KHQ) and Portland . Huntley hosted together with David Brinkley from 1956 to 1970 the television program Huntley-Brinkley Report on the television station NBC . In 1970 he ended his career as a television presenter and opened the Big Sky Resort in Bozeman in Montana . Huntley's first marriage was to Tippy Stringer and his second marriage to Ingrid Rolin.
