Chiaki Mawatari

Chiaki Mawatari ( Japanese 馬 渡 千 明 , Mawatari Chiaki ; * 1967 in Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese musician ( tuba , also serpent ), who has emerged in both classical and jazz music.

Mawatari completed an instrumental course at the Art School of Kyoto. In 1996 he moved to Spain to complete his training at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in the master class of Miguel Moreno. In both Japan and Spain he worked with symphony orchestras such as the Hiroshima Sinfonia and Orquesta de Extremadura . He is a member of Biodramina Mood and Krokodillos . He is on albums with Jorge Pardo , Baldo Martínez , Lluis Coloma, but also with the brass band Dr. Macaroni Brass Band as well as the Dixielandband Krokodillos and the songwriter Miquel Gil and has performed at festivals in Munich, Basel, Madrid, Vigo, Menorca, Albacete, Guimaraes and in Scandinavia.
