Chidi Kwubiri

Chidi Kwubiri (* 1966 in Umuahia , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian- German artist .

Life

Chidi Kwubiri was first a guest student in 1993 and shortly thereafter a regular student (painting) at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Michael Buthe . After his death in 1994, he switched to AR Penck's master class and left the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 2002 as a master class student of AR Penck.

Chidi Kwubiri has lived with his family in Pulheim , at the gates of Cologne , since 2000 and has his studio there in the WALZWERK, a historical industrial complex that is now used as a commercial and cultural location. Chidi Kwubiri has already had numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions, especially in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the USA. In 2016 he designed the MISEREOR hunger kerchief, which has a more than 40-year tradition, for the global MISEREOR fasting campaigns 2017/2018.

He has won several awards and received several art sponsorship awards.
