Christopher James Beath , short Chris Beath (born November 17, 1984 ) is an Australian football referee .

Chris Beath made his debut in the Australian A-League in the 2008/09 season on September 28, 2008. Since then, he has led over 170 league games (as of the end of June 2019).

Beath has been a FIFA referee since 2011, leading international matches. In 2012 he whistled the Copa Suruga Bank between the Kashima Antlers and CF Universidad de Chile (2: 2, 7: 6 p. On December 16, 2014, he led the final of the 2014 FFA Cup between Adelaide United and Perth Glory (1-0). Beath was in action at the 2015 Asian Cup in Australia and the 2018 U-23 Asian Cup in China , where he also whistled the opening game. At the 2018 Southeast Asian Championship, he led the final first leg between Malaysia and Vietnam (2-2). At the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates , he led three games, including the first semi-final between Iran and Japan (0-3).

On June 9, 2017, Beath headed the Superclásico de las Américas 2017 between Brazil and Argentina in Melbourne (0: 1).

In 2019, Beath was nominated by FIFA as one of 15 video referees for the 2019 Women's World Cup in France .
