Chris Solinsky (born December 5, 1984 in Stevens Point ) is an American long-distance runner . In 2010 he was the first athlete not born in Africa to run the 10,000 meters in under 27 minutes.

Solinsky first made a name for himself in the United States as a successful high school and college athlete. From 2003 to 2007 he studied history and sociology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison . After he had missed the qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, he was nominated as runner-up in the national championships for the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009. There he finished twelfth in the 5000 meter run . At the World Athletics Final in Thessaloniki, he was sixth over 3000 meters .

Solinski received international attention when, in May 2010, he became the first non-African-born runner to complete the 10,000-meter run in under 27 minutes. Solinsky's performance was also remarkable because it was his debut at this competitive distance.
