Christ-König is the Catholic church in Zeven , a town in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district in Lower Saxony . It belongs to the parish Corpus Christi with seat in Rotenburg (Wümme) , in the deanery Verden of the diocese Hildesheim . The church bears the patronage of Jesus as Christ the King (Rex Christ) and is located in the street Hoftohorn 9 (corner of Heinrichstraße).

history

On June 1, 1948, the benediction of a Catholic chapel in Zeven took place.

On 23 November 1952, took place the consecration of the newly built church by Bishop Joseph Godehard making , and on 1 August 1956, the establishment was followed by the parish Zeven.

In 1996, the Maria Königin church in Tarmstedt , about 17 kilometers away, was abandoned.

Since November 1st, 2006 the church belongs to the parish Corpus Christi in Rotenburg (Wümme).

Architecture and equipment

The church was built according to plans by Josef Fehlig . Its small tower above the entrance has a bell . The rear wall of the simple chancel is dominated by a crucifix , the tabernacle is embedded in a side wall. To the left and right of the chancel there are statues of St. Mary (mother of Jesus) and Joseph of Nazareth .
