Christel Humme

Christel Humme , b. Hahn (born November 25, 1949 in Herten ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Marl in 1969 , Christel Humme began studying economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum in 1970 , which she completed in 1974 with a degree in economics. She then completed a legal clerkship at a vocational school in Witten until 1976 . She then worked as a teacher at the commercial vocational schools in Herne . From 1977 to 1979 she also completed an additional degree in English at the Ruhr University in Bochum. In 1987 she moved to the Holzkamp Comprehensive School in Witten, where she worked until 1998.

Christel Humme has two daughters, is divorced and lives in Witten.

Political party

She has been a member of the SPD since 1969 and has been a member of the executive committee of the SPD sub-district Ennepe-Ruhr since 1998 .

From 1994 to 1998 Christel Humme was a member of the Witten City Council.

From 1998 to 2013 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From March 2001 to November 2007 she was spokesperson for the parliamentary group working group on families, seniors, women and youth . From November 26, 2007 to October 22, 2009 she was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group for the areas of family, senior citizens, women, youth, education and research. She had been a member of the SPD parliamentary group since March 2001.

From 2007 to 2009 she was deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group. From November 25, 2009 until the end of the 17th electoral term, she was deputy chairwoman of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth of the German Bundestag and spokeswoman for the SPD working group on gender equality.

Christel Humme has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency Bochum II - Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis II or, since 2002, of the constituency Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis II . In the 2005 Bundestag election she received 52.4% of the first votes . In the 2009 Bundestag election, Christel Humme was able to win the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis II again as directly elected member of the SPD with 40.9% of the first votes. In the 2013 federal election, Christel Humme did not run again as a candidate. Her successor was Ralf Kapschack .

Memberships

Humme was a member of the Europa-Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag .
