Christian Brand (Manager)

Christian Brand (born October 5, 1949 in Dortmund ) is a German bank manager and chairman of the supervisory board of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW). From January 1, 2001 to June 30, 2014, he was Chairman of the Management Board of L-Bank .

Life

After graduating from high school and training as a bank clerk at Westfalenbank, he studied economics at the University of Augsburg until 1977 . Until 1992 he worked in the lending business and in the capital markets business at WestLB , Orion Royal Bank and JP Morgan in Düsseldorf , London and Frankfurt .

In 1993 he was elected deputy chairman of the board of the Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg . When the market segment was spun off from the Landeskreditbank and merged to form Landesbank Baden-Württemberg on January 1, 1999, Brand was intended to be a member of the Landesbank's board of directors, according to press releases. However, it remained with the promotional part of the Landeskreditbank, which had been transferred to the newly established L-Bank with effect from December 1, 1998 . From January 1, 2001 to June 30, 2014 Christian Brand held the position of Chairman of the Management Board. From June 2009 to June 2013 Christian Brand was President of the Association of German Public Banks (VÖB) . In May 2015, the annual general meeting of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg proposed Brand to succeed Hans Wagener as the new chairman of the bank's supervisory board. Until 2016 he also sat on the supervisory board of Wüstenrot & Württembergische .

2014 fire was by the Baden-Württemberg Finance and Economy Minister Nils Schmid with the Enterprise Medal of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg excellent.
