Career

Dobnik began his career as a football player in August 1992 with his home club, SV Viktoria Viktring in the 13th Viktring district of Klagenfurt . In April 1997 he moved to the Carinthian Football Academy and from then on played in various youth teams, before he was brought into the second fighting team of FC Carinthia in 2005 , which at that time was still represented in the Carinthian regional league and a game community with FC Welzenegg business. In his first season in men's football, Dobnik was able to move up with his team in the third-class regional league middle. From the amateurs, he was drawn into the club's fighting team two years later, where he completed his first professional missions.

Dobnik moved from the financially very troubled FC Kärnten to FC Lustenau in Vorarlberg in summer 2008 ; his coach and previously teammate Nenad Bjelica succeeded him as the coach of FC Lustenau after the game was stopped in spring 2009. Together with Bjelica, Dobnik joined Wolfsberger AC in the summer of 2010 ; Dobnik as a player and Bjelica as his coach. With the 2011/12 season , the club finally made it to the top Austrian league with six points ahead of SCR Altach . He made his Bundesliga debut on July 25, 2012 in the 0-1 defeat against FK Austria Wien .

After 175 first and second division games for the Carinthians, he left the professionals after the 2019/20 season. For the 2020/21 season he moved into the squad of the third-rate amateurs of the WAC.
