Christian Emil Boehm

Christian Emil Böhm (born November 24, 1874 in Schneeberg (Erzgebirge) , † after 1935) was a German engineer , educator and architect .

Life

He came from a family that had lived in the mountain town of Schneeberg since the 16th century and was the son of the Schneeberg merchant Christian Emil Böhm and his wife Anna Louise, born Richter. Christian Emil Böhm grew up in the western Ore Mountains and attended high school in Schneeberg. He then studied at the technical universities in Dresden and Hanover. He completed his studies with a degree in engineering. After completing his studies, he took over construction management in Germany and Holland. After that he worked for some time as a teacher at the state building trade school in Nienburg an der Weser and then moved to Essen in this capacity. Most recently he was director of the Royal Prussian Building Trade School in Posen.

In 1914 he followed the call of the Prussian government Potsdam to the capital of the province of Brandenburg as a government and trade school rector . Here he experienced the First World War. In 1921 he became department director at the Provincial School Council of the Province of Brandenburg and Berlin. In 1930 Christian Ernst Böhm became director of the state vocational education institute in Berlin. After the National Socialists came to power , he retired in 1933, which he spent in Berlin-Lichterfelde , Mühlenstrasse 3.

He was a member of the Association of German Architects and held the title of Professor and Senior Councilor.

  • In 1932 he supported Alfred Grotte with his publication Das Bürgerhaus in den Posener Landen (Posen Region) .
