Christian Fischer (born August 4, 1970 in Dortmund ) is a German football referee .

Fischer lives in Hemer and is a teacher ( director of studies ) by profession . He teaches English and sports at the An der Stenner high school in Iserlohn . Since the 2016/2017 school year, he has also taken on the post of deputy headmaster.

Fischer was DFB referee for SG Hemer from 2004 to 2015 . Fischer studied at the University of Dortmund from 1993 to 1998 . During this time he joined the soccer club Grashüpfer Olpkebach 1988 e. V. in Dortmund as a referee and made it to the Bundesliga within 10 years. After differences with the district arbitration committee in Dortmund, he moved to his home town / district in Hemer in 2004 . After his old club canceled the referee allowance, he decided to switch to Holzpfosten Schwerte from the 2015/16 season . He has been in charge of games in the second division football since 2005 and is an assistant in the first division.

On August 11, 2012, while preparing for the 2012/13 Bundesliga season , Fischer led a test match between Fortuna Düsseldorf and Benfica Lisbon . In the 43rd minute he was rammed to the ground by Benfica professional Luisão by body check after he had sent a teammate Luisão off. Fischer was dazed for a few minutes and then stopped the game.

International assignments

In 2003, Fischer was a referee in the K-League final. On October 3, 2007, he led the final first leg of the South Korean Championship between the Pohang Steelers and Seongnam Ilhwa (final score 3-1).
