Christian Flüthmann (born May 7, 1982 in Munster ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach . Most recently he was the head coach of Eintracht Braunschweig .
Career
Flüthmann was born in Münster and played for TSV Victoria Clarholz from the East Westphalian community of Herzebrock-Clarholz , more is not known about his career as a player. He was preferred as a winger .
After training as an industrial clerk , he founded an advertising agency with a business partner. A little later Flüthmann became assistant coach of the first team of Victoria Clarholz, which played in the then still fifth-class Westfalenliga . This was followed by positions in the youth division of Arminia Bielefeld and at VfL Osnabrück until he found a job at Borussia Dortmund in 2013 . There Flüthmann was first responsible for the U16s and later headed the game analysis department. During his time in Dortmund, he made contact with the then head coach of the professionals, Jürgen Klopp , and with the person in charge of the U23 , Daniel Farke .
Together with Farke, Flüthmann moved to England in the summer of 2017 and became his assistant at the second division club Norwich City ; together, the team stood on the sidelines in 73 games of the club. During his time in England, Flüthmann began training as a football teacher under Phil Church, an FA instructor . Together with him, ex-player and Chelsea coach Frank Lampard took part in the course. After obtaining the UEFA A license, he plans to take his football teaching exam in June 2020.
In November 2018, Flüthmann followed a call from home when Eintracht Braunschweig , relegated to the 3rd division , was looking for an assistant for the new head coach André Schubert . Under the coaching team, Eintracht, which had long been involved in the relegation battle, managed to just keep the class. After Schubert's departure, Flüthmann was promoted to head coach for the 2019/20 season and received a contract valid until the end of the 2021 season. After the 15th matchday, however, he was released, although the team was fifth at this point and was only three points behind a direct promotion place.
