Christian Gerhard Offerhaus (baptized March 13, 1674 in Hamm ; † December 31, 1758 in Deventer) was Professor of Philosophy at the Academic Gymnasium in Hamm from 1697 to 1701 .

Christian Gerhard Offerhaus was born on March 13, 1674 in Hamm as the son of the rent master Leonhard Offerhaus († 1698) and his wife Elisabeth. Boenen († 1718) baptized. His son Leonhard Offerhaus († 1779) was a professor of history and eloquence in Lingen and later in Groningen .

Life

Christian Gerhard Offerhaus matriculated to study theology in Harderwijk in 1691 , but in Franeker in 1693 . From 1697 to 1701 he was professor of philosophy and eloquence at the Academic Gymnasium in Hamm. From 1702 to 1708 he held the position of the first Reformed preacher in Wesel . In 1708 he followed a call to the Academic High School in Deventer , where he taught theology for 45 years until he retired on September 11, 1753. Christian Gerhard Offerhaus died in Deventer on December 31, 1758.
