Christian Germann

Christian Germann (born May 19, 1949 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) is a German diplomat who was ambassador to the Dominican Republic from 2007 to 2011 and to Burkina Faso from 2011 to 2014 .

Life

After High School in Bonn in 1968, performing his military service in the army , he studied from 1970 to 1976 law and then put his first legal state exam from. He then did his legal preparatory service between 1977 and 1979 .

In 1979 he entered the diplomatic service and, after completing his training as an attaché, was employed at the embassy in Iran from 1981 to 1984 and then in Peru until 1987 . After working at the headquarters of the Foreign Office , he was permanent representative of the Ambassador to Costa Rica between 1990 and 1993 . He then returned to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was Deputy Head of Unit, before he served as Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to the Philippines from 1996 to 2000 .

After working as head of the Consular Section of the Embassy in the United States of America , he was finally between 2004 and July 2007 Head of State and Administrative Law (Section 505) of the Foreign Office.

Since August 2007, Christian Germann is the successor of the retirement came Karl A. Köhler 2007 Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Dominican Republic . Since August 2011 he has been the ambassador to Burkina Faso as the successor to Ulrich Hochschild , who moved to the German Consulate General in Strasbourg. In 2014 he retired and was then replaced by Dietrich Pohl .
