Christian Giencke
Christian Giencke (born June 9, 1896 in Langenhorn , † May 19, 1967 in Bad Godesberg ) was a German CDU politician .
Life and work
After elementary school , a gardening apprenticeship and commercial training, Giencke, who was of Protestant faith, attended the horticultural college in Köstritz . He participated in the First World War as a soldier. After passing his state examination in garden architecture, he took over his parents' horticultural business in Langenhorn in 1922.
politics
Giencke was a member of Langenhorn's municipal council from 1927 to 1933 and was mayor of the municipality in 1945/46. From 1946 to 1949 he was the district administrator of what was then the Husum district . From 1949 he was district president .
Giencke, who joined the CDU after 1945, had been its chairman in the Husum district since 1947.
From 1949 to 1965 he was a member of the German Bundestag , into which he always entered as a directly elected member of the Husum - Südtondern - Eiderstedt constituency .
