Christian Gottlob Klemm
Christian Gottlob Klemm (born November 11, 1736 in Schwarzenberg ; † January 26, 1802 in Vienna ) was a German playwright and editor of weeklies .
Life
From 1752 to 1757, Klemm studied theology and law in Leipzig and mathematics in Jena. Then he worked in Frankfurt / M. as a language teacher and finally went to Vienna in 1759, where he spent most of his life. In 1762 he founded the first Viennese weekly “Die Welt”. In the upcoming theater reform towards a more serious national theater with a moral sense of mission, he took a moderate line, trying to save the character of Hanswurst, for example .
