Christian Heinrich Kersten (also Christian Hinrich Kersten ; * 1732 or 1733 ; † July 1, 1799 in Rostock ) was a German organ builder in Rostock.

Life

Kersten's origin is unknown. He was probably a student of the organ builder Paul Schmidt in Rostock, as his organ building style was very similar to his works. His first work as an organ builder is known from 1766. In 1788 he made an application for the maintenance of all Rostock organs, which was rejected (or approved ??) by the magistrate.

Works (selection)

Christian Heinrich Kersten is known to have built seven new organs, some repairs, a conversion and two new building offers in the Rostock area. The organs in Bad Sülze , Saal and Belitz as well as the prospectus in Jesendorf have been preserved .
