Christian Heinrich von Dewitz

Christian Heinrich von Dewitz (born June 4, 1698 in Daber ; † February 26, 1774 there ) was a Prussian district administrator in Pomerania .

Life

He came from the noble Dewitz family , who owned extensive estates in Pomerania. These possessions made up a large part of the Daber-Naugard-Dewitz circle . His father Gustav George von Dewitz (* 1633, † 1701) was a captain in the Prussian service and heir to Daber. His mother was born von Uckermann .

Christian Heinrich von Dewitz studied at the University of Halle . In 1728 he became, as the successor to the late Stephan Berend von Dewitz , district administrator of the Daber district and director of the Dewitz family. In 1771 he took his leave as district administrator; his successor was Johann Daniel Ludwig von Reppert . Christian Heinrich von Dewitz died three years later.

Christian Heinrich von Dewitz's first marriage in 1727 was Johanna Dorothea , a daughter of District Administrator Ludolf Ehrenreich von Strantz . After her death in 1750 he married Marie Justine , a widow from Mittelstaedt and née von Sydow ; the marriage was divorced in 1758. His son Joseph Friedrich von Dewitz (* 1743, † 1806), who became the heir to Daber, Groß Benz and Bernhagen , survived him .
