Life

He came from the aristocratic von Arnim family from Brandenburg . His father George Heinrich von Arnim (1717–1793) was the heir to Werbelow , Milow and Schwaneberg . His mother was Marie Albertine nee Countess von der Schulenburg (* March 27, 1726 - † July 9, 1793), a daughter of Lieutenant General Adolph Friedrich von der Schulenburg .

Otto Albrecht von Arnim studied from 1769 at the University of Halle and from 1772 at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) . At the end of 1773 he wanted to become a trainee lawyer at the Berlin Court of Appeal , but was turned away because of a poor exam result. In 1774 he became a trainee lawyer with the Pomeranian government in Stettin . He worked here for a number of years. When his father went bankrupt, he left the job in Stettin and leased his father's Werbelow estate, but was unsuccessful and had to give up the lease.

In 1779 Otto Albrecht von Arnim married the eldest daughter of the Szczecin government councilor Johann Joachim Loeper . The father-in-law sold Arnim and his wife in 1782 the Plantikow estate in the Daber-Naugard-Dewitz district in Western Pomerania.

In 1796 Otto Albrecht von Arnim was elected as the successor to the resigned Johann Daniel Ludwig von Reppert to the district administrator of the Daber-Naugard-Dewitz district . But as early as 1798 he was no longer able to exercise his office due to a mental illness . The district office was administered by the district superior, one of Bismarck's, until Friedrich Christian August von Dewitz became the new district administrator in 1801 .

The Plantikow estate was sold to the Stettin merchant Johann Jakob Andres Witte on May 20, 1803. Otto Albrecht von Arnim died on June 17, 1803.
