Christian Jostmann

Christian Jostmann (born July 7, 1971 in Bielefeld ) is a German historian and author of non-fiction books.

Life

After graduating from high school in Bielefeld and doing community service at the Medical Mission Clinic in Würzburg , Jostmann studied history , sociology , psychology and Hispanic studies in Würzburg, Bielefeld and Madrid. In 2004 he received his doctorate from Bielefeld University with a dissertation on the sibylline literature of the late Middle Ages. Neithard Bulst and Klaus Schreiner acted as reviewers . From 2002 to 2011 Jostmann was the author of the features section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Since 2006 he has been writing for the Austrian weekly newspaper Die Furche . In 2005, together with the photographer Bernd Ctortecka, he initiated the exhibition “After Schengen. On the aesthetics of the border ”. Jostmann has lived in Weinviertel in Lower Austria since 2005 .
