Christian Keller (football official)

Christian Keller (born November 26, 1978 in Donaueschingen ) is a German football official and managing director of SSV Jahn Regensburg .

Life

Scientific career

Christian Keller grew up in Gutmadingen, Baden . After leaving secondary school in 1995 in Immendingen and the technical college in Tuttlingen he studied at the ESB Business School of Reutlingen University foreign trade. Keller wrote his diploma thesis on the subject of "Going Public Football - Analysis and Guidelines for the IPO of Football Companies". He then studied "International Business Development" at the same university. Here, too, football was the subject of his thesis: “Corporate Finance in Professional Football - Success Factors, Strategies and Instruments for Financing Football Companies.” In 2008, Keller received his doctorate from the Eberhard-Karls-University in Tübingen , the dissertation subject under the supervision of Helmut Digel was “Control of football companies - shaping financial and sporting success in the long term ”.

From 2010 to 2013, Keller taught sports management at the SRH University in Heidelberg .

Athletic career

Christian Keller played in his youth at FC Pfohren in Donaueschingen and at TuS Bräunlingen . Due to a serious knee injury, the then 18-year-old midfielder had to end his active career shortly before moving to the fourth-class league . Thereupon Keller started as a youth coach of his home club FC Gutmadingen , later he moved to the men's division. In December 2007, Keller was coach of the national division SC Tuttlingen for six months .

Keller is in possession of the A license from the German Football Association .

Career as a football official

During his time at SC Tuttlingen , Keller developed a sports concept for training young people. From December 2009, Keller worked for six months at SSV Jahn Regensburg as an employee of a consulting company that financially restructured the club. In the same position he worked for SpVgg Bayreuth and TSV 1860 Munich , among others .

After SSV Jahn's relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga , Christian Keller became the new managing director and sporting director in August 2013. He replaced Franz Gerber .
