Christian Krauel

Christian Krauel (born January 6, 1800 in Rostock , † April 17, 1854 ibid) was a German gynecologist. He taught at the University of Rostock .

Life

As the son of a general practitioner , Krauel studied medicine at the University of Rostock and at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . He was a member of the Corps Vandalia Rostock and joined the Corps Vandalia in 1822 in Göttingen like many of his fellow Mecklenburg students. As habilitated lecturer at the University of Rostock in 1838, he was on May 9, associate professor . On April 21, 1846 he was appointed to the chair of gynecology. As full professor and director, he headed the Rostock University Women's Clinic until his death. His grave is on the site of the former Old Cemetery, today's Lindenpark.
