Christian Krognes

Christian Krognes (born May 11, 1990 in Hamar ) is a Norwegian racing driver .

Career

Christian Krognes drove karting from 2005 to 2010 . There he was champion in the KZ2 class of the Norwegian Kart Championship in 2007, 2008 and 2010.

In the 2012 season he switched to the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring and won the VLN championship title for the LMS Engineering team with a VW Scirocco GT24 . He shared the cockpit with Ulrich Andree and Dominik Brinkmann. That year he also started for LMS Engineering in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring - but could not finish the race.

In 2015 he started together with Kenneth Heyer , Philipp Frommenwiler and Rob Huff for Team Premio in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, finishing in tenth place, his best result in this racing event.

From 2016 to 2019 Krognes competed for Team Walkenhorst Motorsport with a BMW M6 GT3 in the SP9 classification of the VLN and in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. During this time, his best results of the season in 2019 were 13th place in the VLN and 12th place in the overall standings at the 2016 24-hour race.

At the same time, he competed for Walkenhorst Motorsport in several races of the Endurance Cup of the Blancpain GT Series and in the Intercontinental GT Challenge from 2017 to 2019 . There he achieved his greatest success to date in GT motorsport with Philipp Eng and Tom Blomqvist at the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race in 2018.
