The 2-liter TSI engine is used in the Scirocco GT24 . This has been increased to an output of 239 kW (325 hp) at 6500 revolutions per minute. The four-valve direct injection engine with turbocharger and intercooler delivers its maximum torque of 340 Newton meters at 2100 revolutions per minute. The vehicle is front-wheel drive. The 6-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG) is shifted using shift paddles on the steering wheel. The 2009 Scirocco GT24 has an output of 231 kW (315 PS) due to the regulation-related reduction of the air flow limiter to 38.0 mm, the boost pressure may not exceed 2.4 bar. A new development for 2009 is the Scirocco GT24 with natural gas drive , which has an output of 207 kW (282 hp) and a maximum torque of 330 Newton meters.
