Christian Möhring

Christian Möhring (* 1695 in Magdeburg ; † May 1, 1773 in Kreuzburg ) was a Prussian major general and chief of Hussar Regiment No. 3 and heir to Wallwitz, Zäcklau and Fürstenau.

Life

Military career

Möhring was of bourgeois origin from Magdeburg. He came into the Hussars Regiment of King Friedrich Wilhelm I. He was a corporal in 1735, 1740 Cornet , 1750 captain and in June 1751 Major . In December 1757 he became a lieutenant colonel and in March 1758 a colonel .

On October 14, 1758 he was appointed chief of the Hussar Regiment "von Koehler" and in May 1766 promoted to major general. Möhring was raised to the nobility on March 10, 1773 and died on May 1, 1773 in Kreuzburg in Silesia.

family

He was married to Anna von Ruskowsky († 23 August 1782). After the death of her husband, she received a pension from the king. The couple had a daughter, Sophie Luise von Möhring (* December 1744, † May 4, 1800). Sophie Luise was married to Karl Adolf August von Eben and Brunnen (1734–1800).
