Christian Müller (born December 24, 1947 in Görlitz ) is a former member of the German Bundestag ( SPD ), to which he belonged for four legislative periods from 1990 to 2005.

Life

Christian Müller left the Polytechnic High School in Görlitz in 1964 and then completed vocational training and the Abitur as a mechanical engineer , which he achieved in 1967. This was followed by a degree in engines and work machines at the Technical University of Dresden , which he completed in 1971 with a diploma in the field of compressor control. Until 1975 he worked as a research assistant at the engineering college in Zittau and until 1977 as a patent examiner at the patent office in Berlin . He then gave up this job to work as a technical college teacher until 1990. In the meantime he was also a group leader and lecturer for automation technology at the engineering school for electronics and computer science in Görlitz. In order to devote himself to politics, he has not been employed since 1990.

He is married and has two children.

In January 1990, Müller joined the SPD and became a member of the Zittau District Executive and the Saxony / East District Executive during the year. He remained in both until the end of 1990. In the 1990 Bundestag election , he entered the German Bundestag for the first time via the Dresden state list . 1991 Müller became chairman of the SPD sub-district Neisse. In the following elections to the Bundestag in 1994 , 1998 and 2002 , he also won the mandate on the state list of Saxony every time . From 1995 to 2002, Müller was deputy chairman of the Economic Committee . In 2005 he left the Bundestag.
