Christian Minor

Christian Heinrich Minor (born February 18, 1813 in Holzhausen , † February 9, 1892 in Panrod ) was a postman from Nassau and a member of the state parliament .

Life and family

Christian Minor was the son of the farmer Peter Franz Minor (born April 12, 1781 in Holzhausen; † November 11, 1865 ibid) and his wife Maria Elisabetha, née Fuhr (October 28, 1780 in Holzhausen; † April 22, 1850 ibid), who married on January 24, 1800 in Holzhausen.

Christian Minor, who was of Protestant denomination, married Maria Katharina in January 1840, née Napp, widowed Hegmann. After her death on June 20, 1850, he married Caroline Philippine Johanette, née Wiegandt (born November 18, 1828 in Idstein ; † May 3, 1891 in Singhofen), the daughter of the innkeeper Johann Philipp, on April 12, 1853 in Singhofen Wiegand.

Until 1873 he was a post holder in the “Zur alten Post” inn in Singhofen and then an innkeeper.

politics

Christian Minor held many honorary positions in Singhofen, including that of an orphan council. After the March Revolution , the "Democratic Association Wiesbaden" was founded on July 12, 1848. However, the association was dissolved by the government just three days later. As a result, the “Association for the Protection of People's Rights” was founded as a successor organization. Christian Minor was a founding member and board member.

The association in which the liberals organized was a forerunner of the Nassau Progress Party . For this he was elected to the second chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau in the constituency XIV (Braubach / Nastätten) in 1864 .
