Christian Moser (born July 18, 1977 in Deggendorf ) is a Bavarian local politician ( CSU ). Since August 1st, 2012 he has been Lord Mayor of the Lower Bavarian city of Deggendorf.

Studies, work and family

From 1983 to 1987 Moser attended the Theodor-Eckert elementary school, then the Comenius-Gymnasium Deggendorf until 1996 . After his military service in Hemau and Feldkirchen, he studied business administration at the University of Regensburg from 1997 to 2003 . From 2003 he worked in his parents' car dealership, and in 2009 he did his doctorate on the subject of “Cost sharing models for police operations at major sporting events”.

Moser has been married since 2011 and has 3 children.

Political career

In 1996 Christian Moser became a member of JU and CSU, from 2003 to 2007 he was JU local chairman, from 2003 to 2009 he was JU district chairman and from 2007 to 2011 district chairman of the JU Niederbayern.

In 2008 he was newly elected to the Deggendorf City Council and then third mayor.

On June 24, 2012, Christian Moser was elected the new Lord Mayor of Deggendorf with 56.74 percent of the votes in the first ballot and thus the successor to Anna Eder, who had not run for office after twelve years. Moser took office on August 1, 2012. In the 2020 local elections , he was re-elected with 66.37 percent.
