Anna Eder

Anna Eder (born July 17, 1950 ) is a German local politician ( CSU ). From 2000 to 2012 she was Lord Mayor of the Lower Bavarian city of Deggendorf .

Life

Eder joined the CSU in 1975 and has been deputy district chairwoman of the CSU Lower Bavaria since 1990. In the local elections in 1978 she was elected to the Deggendorf City Council for the first time, to which she was a member until 1990 and then again from 1996 to 2000.

After Dieter Görlitz resigned , she was elected Lord Mayor of Deggendorf on July 9, 2000, and took office on August 1, 2000. In the election on July 2, 2006, she was confirmed in office with 70.37% of the vote. Eder did not stand for election on June 24, 2012, her term of office ended on July 31, 2012. Her successor was Christian Moser .

From 1989 to 1990 she was also a member of the Lower Bavaria District Assembly. Since 2002 she has been a member of the district council in the district of Deggendorf.

Services

160 million euros were invested in Eder's tenure, including in Stadthalle II, the facade program, the upgrading of Luitpoldplatz and the renovation of the old town hall. She actively supported the expansion of the technical university . In addition, she succeeded in bringing the State Horticultural Show to Deggendorf for 2014 and securing funding.

During her entire term of office, Eder promoted the improvement of the care situation for children and young people as a particular concern of her. In particular, she ensured the necessary expansion of toddler and kindergarten care, both municipal and independent.
