Christian Ohm

Christian Ohm (born December 29, 1580 in Rostock ; † September 26, 1638 in Königsberg (Prussia) ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

Ohm had enrolled at the University of Rostock in September 1597 and completed his first studies there. He then continued his studies for eight years at the University of Marburg , the University of Strasbourg and the University of Jena . Returned to his homeland, he was examined on May 22, 1609 in the law faculty and on March 6, 1610 received his doctorate in law. In 1611 he was given a professorship at the law faculty (publici, ao?) And he became a lawyer at the Mecklenburg court. In 1628 he became the first professor of law at the University of Königsberg . Here he also took part in the organizational tasks of the university and was rector of the Alma Mater in the summer semesters of 1629, 1633 and 1637 .
