Christian Schulte-Loh (* 1979 in Haltern ) is a German comedian , presenter and author . He lives in London and Berlin .

life and career

Christian Schulte-Loh grew up in Haltern am See . Comedians had been his dream job since listening to records by Otto Waalkes and Heinz Erhardt as a student . After graduating from high school, he studied media management at Mittweida University and graduated in 2003 with a degree in media management. Hugo Egon Balder supervised his thesis on the adaptation of American TV comedy formats on the German market . After graduating, he worked for many years as an editor and producer for German and international TV formats, including in Budapest and Buenos Aires .

In 2002 Schulte-Loh made his first English-language appearance as a stand-up comedian in Belgium during a semester abroad. Since then he has appeared in comedy clubs in various countries, initially exclusively in English. In 2009 he moved to London to focus on comedy full time. In England, Schulte-Loh soon made a name for himself in the comedy scene as a “German Comedian”. He can now be seen regularly in the best-known and most renowned comedy clubs (for example the London Comedy Store). With his solo shows he appeared several times at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh . The British audience celebrates the Englishman by choice as one of the "most subversive acts of all time".

Schulte-Loh has performed in over thirty countries (including Dubai , Estonia , Argentina and Bosnia ). In Germany, where he now lives again, he has also been on stage and on TV since 2012. a. in the Quatsch Comedy Club or at NightWash . Since then he has been commuting between England and Germany.

In 2017 his book “Zum Lachen auf die Insel” was published by Piper Verlag (non-fiction book of the month by Piper Verlag, April 2017). In the book Schulte-Loh tells of his experiences in England and his turbulent rise as a “German Comedian” in the motherland of humor.

Schulte-Loh lives in London and Berlin .
