Alfred sourdough

Alfred Sauerteig (born October 15, 1877 in Unterwohlsbach ; † January 1, 1961 in Coburg ) was a German local politician and author . In spring 1945 he was Lord Mayor of the City of Coburg.

Life

After graduation Saugerteig was judicial candidates at Coburg District Court . In 1905 sour dough moved to the city of Coburg. Sourdough took part in the First World War and was awarded, among other things, the Iron Cross First Class. Sauerteig sat on the city council for the German Democratic Party from 1919 to 1921 . In 1937 he joined the NSDAP . From April 7, 1945 to May 12, 1945, Sauerteig was Lord Mayor of the city of Coburg . During this time he signed, among other things, the surrender of Coburg to the Americans and reintroduced the Coburg Mohr as the city's coat of arms. From 1946 to 1960, sourdough was a member of the Coburg city council.
