Leopold Oberländer
Leopold Oberländer (born August 4, 1811 in Königsberg in Franconia , † August 25, 1868 in Coburg ) was a German lawyer and politician . He was mayor of Coburg (1846–1865) and member of the 5th (1844–1848) and 7th (1850–1852) Landtag of Saxony Coburg .
Life
Born as the son of a councilor and bailiff , he attended the Casimirianum grammar school in Coburg from 1827 and studied law in Jena from 1832 to 1834 . There he became a member of the Jenaische Burschenschaft / Arminia in 1832 . After his studies he entered the service of the city of Coburg in 1838, whose mayor he became in 1846 and for which he was a member of the 5th and 7th state parliaments of Saxony Coburg .
