Eugen Bornhauser

Eugen Bornhauser (born July 31, 1887 in Waldshut-Tiengen , † November 7, 1957 in Coburg ) was a German local politician . He was Lord Mayor of the City of Coburg from May 12, 1945 to December 19, 1945 .

Life

Eugen Bornhauser was the son of Rudolf Bornhauser and Emilie Bornhauser, née Pfander. After attending a primary school and a secondary school he studied at teachers . In 1908 he received the state examination as a trade school teacher . Bornhauser came to Coburg in 1910. Before the outbreak of the First World War he did his doctorate at the University of Erlangen , his doctoral thesis was entitled The Constitutional History of Coburg . Bornauser took part in the First World War as a first lieutenant and received several awards. After the end of the war he worked again at the trade school in Coburg. On May 12, 1945 he was appointed Lord Mayor of Coburg by the Americans . On December 19, 1945, he resigned from this office. In 1947 Bornhauser founded the Coburg Gymnastics Association through the merger of several Coburg gymnastics clubs . Bornhauser died after a serious illness on November 7, 1957 in Coburg.
