Christian Ullrich

Christian Friedrich Ullrich (born October 27, 1932 in Duisburg ; † July 30, 2017 in Hagen ) was a German scientist who was managing director of the Institute for Environmental Research at the Technical University of Dortmund until his retirement .

Life

Ullrich obtained after enrollment in Dinslaken (up to 1945) and Duisburg-Hamborn the graduate to a mathematical and scientific school. In 1959 he completed his studies in biology , chemistry and soil science with a doctorate in the mathematics and natural sciences faculty of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

This was followed by an activity in the operational laboratory of a central coking plant. His further path led him to Hanover to the Lower Saxony State Office for Soil Research . In 1964 he became a lecturer at the Hagen University of Education , a year later a lecturer and, in 1966, finally a full professor at the Hagen University of Education . His specialty was didactics of biology .

Until his retirement he was in the state service in North Rhine-Westphalia and most recently head of the Institute for Environmental Research at TU Dortmund. A special competence in conversion research should be emphasized .

Since 2006 he has been chairman of the board of the Bio-Station (environmental center) in Hagen , Westphalia. As a knowledgeable citizen, he was re-elected to the environmental committee of the city of Hagen in 2014.
