Christiane Lemke

Christiane Lemke (born October 10, 1951 in Grünendeich in the Stade district ) is a German professor of political science at the University of Hanover . In 2006 she was the first woman in Germany to head a parliamentary administration.

Services

Lemke has been Professor of Political Science at Leibniz Universität Hannover since 1996 . She holds the Jean Monnet Chair for European Political Science (since 2000) and has been visiting professor at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill several times .

From March 31, 2006 to March 30, 2007 Christiane Lemke was director of the Lower Saxony state parliament . From September 1, 2010 to August 2014, she held the Max Weber Chair for German and European Studies at New York University (NYU). She was a finalist for the presidency at Freie Universität Berlin in 2010.
