Christians Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in Sønderborg on the island of Als in North Schleswig in southern Denmark . The parish was established in 1957 when the parish of Sønderborg Sogn, which encompassed the entire town, was divided into Christians Sogn and Sankt Marie Sogn . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Sønder Als Herred in what was then Aabenraa-Sønderborg Amt , then to Sønderborg Kommune in Sønderjyllands Amt , which was merged into the "new" Sønderborg Kommune in the Syddanmark region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .
Of the 27,841 residents of Sønderborg, 10,874 live in the area of the Christians Sogn parish (as of January 1, 2020).
