Christina Beinhoff

Christina Beinhoff is a German diplomat . Since August 10, 2021 Beinhoff is with her husband Joachim Bertele per job sharing Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Kingdom of Sweden .

Life

Beinhoff is married to the German diplomat Joachim Bertele and has two children.

In 1991 she passed the first state examination in law and completed her legal clerkship from 1993 to 1996 at the Cologne Regional Court. The second state examination in law followed in 1997 at the Albertus Magnus University in Cologne , where she was also a research assistant.

Before joining the Foreign Service , Beinhoff was a consultant at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development , Bonn, from 1997 to 1998 . From 1998 to 1999 she worked at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in New York as a consultant in the economic department.

career

After joining the Foreign Service in 1999, Beinhoff initially completed the preparatory service for the higher foreign service until 2001 . Her first employment was from 2001 to 2004 as a consultant for economics as well as legal and consular matters at the Embassy in Seoul . This was followed by a position at the headquarters of the Federal Foreign Office, where she was employed in the Human Rights Task Force of the Department for Global Issues from 2004 to 2007 . From 2007 to 2010 she was employed as a policy officer at the Paris Embassy . Back at the head office, she worked as a personnel developer for the senior service in the central department from 2010 to 2014.

She then moved to the Federal Ministry of Defense as a political advisor with responsibility for the countries of the post-Soviet space until 2015 . Another assignment in the central department of the Federal Foreign Office from 2015 to 2018 consisted of heading the department for real estate management abroad. From this position, she was promoted to Infrastructure and Security Officer, grade B6 , in 2018 . From August 2019 she was head of the Foreign and Security Policy group at the Federal Chancellery . She has been co-ambassador in Stockholm since August 10, 2021 and will take turns leading the diplomatic mission with her husband every eight months.
