Christina Rast

Christina Rast (* 1968 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss theater director .

Christina Rast studied German , film studies and Russian studies at the University of Zurich . During her assistantship at the Schauspielhaus Zürich she drew attention to herself with the monologue "Kleine Zweifel" by Theresia Walser (with Paula Dombrowski ) and the theatersoap "Das Leck im Schiffbau" .

In 2002/2003 she founded the venue bunk r! With Michel Schröder and Ingo Berk . at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, which has developed into a popular meeting place for young people interested in theater and was able to come up with a broad program between trashy snap shots and finely crafted productions. At the Schauspielhaus Zürich she staged “Penthesilea” by Heinrich von Kleist (with Paula Dombrowski in the title role), “Disease of Youth” by Ferdinand Bruckner , “Die Schere” by Dea Loher and People Next Door by Henry Adam .

This was followed by the world premiere of Peter Stamm's "The Daughters of Taubenhain" at the Lucerne Theater , the projects "Maria Stuart" and "I'm talking! Come to me !!! A search for salvation." at the Rampe Theater in Stuttgart, an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's novel "Slapstick or Never Again Lonely!" at the State Theater in Tübingen . Furthermore, the world premiere of Andrzej Stasiuk's "Ostmark" , as well as "Othello" , "Wirkinderdesnetzes" and "Kabale und Liebe" at the renowned Schauspielhaus Graz .
