Christine Friedlein (born January 7, 1862 in Regensburg ; † September 25, 1938 ) was a German opera singer ( alto ).

Life

Friedlein learned her training to be a singer at the Königigl. Bayer. Music school in Munich , where she was a student of Marie Schröder-Hanfstängl and Johanna Wagner . Immediately after completing her studies, Hermann Levi engaged her for smaller roles in " Parsifal " at the Bayreuth Festival .

On October 1, 1884, Friedlein am Großherzogl. Successful debut at the Hoftheater Karlsruhe as "Orpheus". She stayed at this theater until her farewell performance in 1911. She spent her twilight years in Bregenz. In 1923 he published autobiographical "memorial sheets" containing many amusing artist anecdotes.

Friedlein also made regular guest appearances in Königigl. Court theater (Stuttgart), court theater (Mannheim), opera house (Frankfurt / M.). She was also a sought-after singer for solo concerts.
