Christine Haiden

Christine Haiden (born March 2, 1962 in Euratsfeld ) is an Austrian journalist and author . She has been editor -in- chief of the magazine Welt der Frauen and president of Upper Austria for many years . Press clubs.

Origin and education

The native of Lower Austria grew up as the oldest of five children as the daughter of a shift worker . Her mother ran a sideline farm and she soon had to help as the oldest. After graduating from high school in Amstetten , she studied law in Linz , did her doctorate in 1984 and then completed the court year .

Professional activity

Since 1986 she has been working as an editor and publishing assistant for the magazine Welt der Frauen and the publishing house Welt der Frau.In 1993 she was appointed editor-in-chief of the women's magazine Welt der Frau after a position as head of public relations for the Upper Austrian Caritas (1992/1993).

She also writes guest comments for the Upper Austrian News - Haiden on Thursday - and is the author of several books. She is a co-founder of the women's network in Upper Austria. Press club , where she was on the board from 2003 to 2007, most recently as treasurer, before she was elected president in 2007. She holds other board functions in Upper Austria. Journalist Forum and the Catholic Press Association and starts and supports various social and aid projects. For example, in 2007 she was a member of the jury for the award of the European Peace Rose Prize .
