Eduard Ploier Prize
The Eduard Ploier Prize and the Eduard Ploier Journalist Prize are cash prizes for special achievements in development cooperation abroad and in development education in Austria .

The prizes named after Eduard Ploier have been advertised and awarded every two years by a board of trustees since 1999 and 2001 and are endowed with a total of 22,000 euros.
The sponsorship of the award is represented by a board of trustees consisting of representatives of the Province of Upper Austria , the Diocese of Linz , the ORF Upper Austria, the Bezirksrundschau GmbH , the Raiffeisenlandesbank Upper Austria , the Bildungshaus Schloss Puchberg , the Catholic Action and HORIZONT3000 . The Board of Trustees announces the award and determines the jury for the selection of the award winners.

- Alois Dunzinger from Ottensheim (in the association Initiative for a just world in Ottensheim has supported projects in 17 different development aid countries since 1983 , including the Agadez-Ottensheim / Muu-Mode project as a bridge in Niger )
- Irmgard Prestel (supports the social and rehabilitation center she founded for children and young people with disabilities in the small town of San Ignacio de Velasco in the Santa Cruz Department in Bolivia in the early 1990s , Ms. Prestel is 82 years old and has been living since the 1950s -Years in Bolivia)
- Ferdinand Reindl (supports an aid project in the village of Thadi, which is inhabited by the Tibetan ethnic group Tamang, in Nepal around 150 kilometers from Kathmandu at 1900 to 2500 m above sea level)
- Journalist Prize: Maria Katharina Moser ( ORF Orientation ) and Gabriele Hanke (freelance camerawoman, among others working for ORF )
2013
The 2013 Eduard Ploier Prize was awarded on June 24, 2013 by Governor Josef Pühringer and Diocesan Bishop Ludwig Schwarz :
- August Spaller from the Catholic Action of the Parish Perg , Sabinkreis for the project education of children and young people in Lubumbashi and Kolwezi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo .
- Lore Beck , curator of the Evangelical Parish AB Linz Innere Stadt for the Enampore project in the Casamance province in southern Senegal .
- Sonja Horsewood-Jemc , chairwoman of the Helfende Zeiten association for the project to build and expand the community school in Mtwapa in Kenya .
- Kurt Haslinger , chairman of the PRO WATSCHINGER association for the PRO WATSCHINGER project - A life in the service of the Maasai , an initiative of the Upper Austrian Cartell Association for Wasso and Endulen Hospital in Tanzania .
- Journalist Award : Christine Haiden (editor-in-chief "Welt der Frau") and René Laglstorfer (freelance journalist "Steyrer Pressebüro ").
2015
At the award ceremony on June 29, 2015, the following winners were honored:

- Johann Gmeiner , dean and pastor of Grieskirchen , commitment to Tanzania , Nigeria , India and Brazil
- Bertholde Polterauer , Missionary of the Precious Blood , Wernberg Monastery , has been a missionary in Zimbabwe for decades
- Johann Winkler, Bad Leonfelden, Nepalhilfe Aruntal
- Bruno Plunger, Initiative Eine Welt Braunau, u. a. School partnership project between the HTL Braunau and a school in León, Nicaragua
- Josef Linsmaier, Ruy Barbosa project (cistern construction, training and further education for young people), Brazil
- Journalist Prize: Renate Stockinger, India and Nicaragua reports with a view to the situation of women.
2017

- Pro Sudan, Chairman Johann Rauscher, for the project "Helping people to help themselves in South Sudan"
- Sister Johanna Brandstetter CPS from the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood; for her life's work
- Journalist Award: Karin Maria Bayr (editor-in-chief at the Rohrbach district broadcast)
