Johannes Riedl

Johannes "Hannes" Riedl (born January 2, 1950 in Pirmasens ; † August 19, 2010 ibid) was a German football player . The B national player originally came from the ranks of FK Pirmasens . He then played in the Bundesliga with numerous clubs, with his time as a winger at 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 1974 to 1981 being his outstanding time.

career

Youth, until 1968

Riedl began his career at FK Pirmasens. The fast and agile winger made his debut on February 4, 1968 in the German national youth soccer team in the qualifying match for the UEFA youth tournament in Heilbronn against Spain. In the 1-0 success he formed the left wing together with Winfried Schäfer , Reiner Geye and Hans-Josef Kapellmann stormed on the right . At the UEFA tournament in France, he played in the group matches against Italy (2-0), Yugoslavia (0-1) and Czechoslovakia (1-3). At FKP, in the second half of the 1967/68 season, he was able to prove his skills in the league team in the Southwest Football Regionalliga with a goal on the side of Peter Jann , Robert Jung , Hugo Dausmann and Dieter Weinkauff . For round 1968/69 he got an offer from Bundesliga club MSV Duisburg and then moved to the Lower Rhine.

Bundesliga, 1968 to 1984

In 1968 Robert Gebhardt replaced coach Gyula Lóránt in the "Zebras" and the losses of Heinz van Haaren (Schalke 04), Horst Wild (Karlsruher SC) and Erwin Kostedde (Standard Liège) had to be compensated for. The youth international striker made his debut immediately at the start of the round on August 17, 1968, in a 1-0 home win against Schalke 04 in the Wedau stadium at home on the left wing in the Bundesliga . In addition to the established MSV greats Manfred Manglitz , Michael Bella , Willibert Kremer , Detlef Pirsig and Horst Gecks , he played 23 league games and scored two goals. In addition to Riedl, the two other newcomers Helmut Huttary (33, 1) and Anton Burghardt (28, 0) prevailed on the Wedau.

Between 1968 and 1985 he played a total of 441 Bundesliga games for MSV Duisburg (1968–1972), Hertha BSC (1972–1974), 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1974–1981), Arminia Bielefeld (1981–1983) and Kickers Offenbach (1983 / 84) and scored 49 hits. During his time at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, he was appointed to the German B national team on February 22, 1977 at the international match in Orleans against France (0: 1) . In the meantime, he had been retrained from a winger to a strong midfielder. His last Bundesliga game was on March 13, 1984, when he suffered a major defeat with Kickers Offenbach at Bayern Munich with 9-0 goals. After that he was drawn back to the southwest.

Career end

He ended his playing career after 1985 at SV Edenkoben in the Oberliga Südwest. During the 1989/90 season he took over the coaching position from Hans-Günter Neues , was champion of the Oberliga Südwest with Edenkoben and took part in the promotion games for the 2nd Bundesliga.

He is the father of Bundesliga player Thomas Riedl . Since April 1996 he was the 1. FCK's fan representative. Johannes Riedl died on August 19, 2010 at the age of 60.
