Peace Rose Waldhausen

The European Peace Rose Waldhausen is a 2.7 meter high rose made of chrome-nickel steel created by the metal artist Pius Frank , which was set up in 2002 on the occasion of the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition in and from 2003 in front of the Waldhausen Collegiate Church .

European Peace Rose Prize

Since then, miniature editions of the steel rose have been awarded as a peace prize every several years by the Waldhausen Board of Trustees as an ideal prize to people or groups who are particularly committed to peace , justice and the integrity of creation . A five-person jury is entrusted with the assessment of the submissions.

The Waldhausen Board of Trustees (Peace Committee Waldhausen im Strudengau) are members of the following persons:

From 2005 to 2010, the Peace Prize was announced in cooperation with the Justitia et Pax Austria institution of the Austrian Bishops' Conference .

Further peace committees have been formed in Dimbach (founded September 21, 2008), Nöchling (January 11, 2009), St. Oswald (April 17, 2012) and Gottsdorf (April 20, 2013).

The jury's venues were: Palais Schwarzenberg in Vienna (2005), Steyregg Castle in Steyregg (2007), St. Antonius Education Center in Grein (2010), Persenbeug Castle in Persenbeug (2013).
