Peace Rose Initiative

On the occasion of the Upper Austrian State Exhibition in Waldhausen im Strudengau, Pius Frank created the 2.7 meter high European Peace Rose made of metal with three buds made of chrome-nickel steel, which is attached to a Danube stone with countless steel roots.

The sculpture was initially installed in the Waldhausen collegiate church for a year and was transferred to the collegiate grounds in front of the church in 2003.

Frank's vision of giving three small peace roses every two years to people or groups who work for peace , justice and the integrity of creation was first realized in 2005. Further awards were in 2007 and 2010. The Peace Rose Prize 2013 was advertised across Europe.
