Christine Pollerus
Christine Pollerus (* 1973 near Graz) is an Austrian musicologist , soprano , singing teacher and specialist in baroque performance practice and gestures.
Life
Christine Pollerus received a scholarship for talented students at the University of Graz at the age of three, and she also learned the violin during this time . From 1991 she studied musicology at the Karl Franzens University in Graz. From 1994 she studied singing ( mezzo-soprano ) at the Graz University of Art with Josef Loibl and attended master classes with Jessica Cash, Francisco Araiza , Kai Wessel , Ute von Garczynski and Inger Wieröd, among others. In 1999 she obtained her diploma with honors for the Magistra artium . In 2001 she switched to soprano and from 2003 to 2005 she specialized in baroque chamber music through postgraduate studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland with Jesper Christensen . At the same time, Margit Legler and Reinhold Kubik received basic training in the field of historical acting and gesture . In 2005 she obtained her doctorate with distinction with a biography and vocal aesthetic analysis of the singer Regina Mingotti (1722–1808).
Pollerus was appointed to work at the University of Art in Graz while studying. From 1998 to 2002 she was a lecturer at the Institute for Music Theater . 2002 to 2009 musicological assistant and deputy head of the institute for music aesthetics . She has been working as a freelance singer, teacher and scientist since 2010, gives lectures at national and international events, such as the summer symposium of the Salzburg Festival . B. at the DTU in Dublin or the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance .
