Christof Mandry

Christof Mandry (* 1968 in Stuttgart ) is a German theologian , ethicist and university professor .

Life

From 1989 to 1996, Mandry studied Catholic theology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and at the Center Sèvres in Paris , with a degree in theology and philosophy , which he completed with a Magister Artium . He then worked as a research assistant at the Interfaculty Center for Ethics in Science (IZEW) at the University of Tübingen, in the “European Network for Biomedical Ethics” department. From 1997 to 1999 Mandry was supported by a doctoral scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg State Graduate Scholarship, after which he became a research assistant at the Chair of Theological Ethics / Social Ethics of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen, before starting a thesis on the relationship between theological and philosophical in 2001 Ethics to Dr. theol. received his doctorate.

From 2000 to 2003, Mandry, as a research assistant at the IZEW at the University of Tübingen, was in charge of the accompanying scientific program for the introduction of the basic ethical and philosophical studies (EPG) in Baden-Württemberg . Also from 2004 to 2006 Mandry was visiting professor for Christian social ethics at the Catholic University of Social Sciences Berlin (KHSB). He is a founding member and was the managing director of the Berlin Institute for Christian Ethics and Politics (ICEP) of the KHSB.

The Habilitation Mandrys took place in 2009 Theological Catholic at the Faculty of the University of Erfurt, with a thesis on Europe as a community of values. Afterwards he was initially a private lecturer for theological ethics , then until the summer semester 2013 he held the chair for Christian Weltanschauung, religious and cultural theory and Christian social science at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt. Research priorities

Mandry's research focuses on theology and culture, political ethics - especially Europe and the European Union - ethical questions in medicine as well as basic questions and applications of theological ethics and Christian social ethics .
