Christof Sielecki

Christof Sielecki (born May 24, 1974 ) is a German chess player from Dinslaken.

Life

Sielecki completed a bank training after dropping out of college. He then worked in controlling at a commercial bank until 2014.

Sielecki won the NRW championship in Oberhausen in 1999 ahead of Sebastian Siebrecht . In November 2000 at the 72nd German Individual Chess Championship in the seaside resort of Heringsdorf , which Robert Rabiega won, he got 4.5 points from 9 games.

Christof Sielecki is an active player primarily in team championships. He achieved the greatest successes in Germany for SV Mülheim-Nord , with whom he rose from the Ruhr Area Association League ( 1998) to the 1st Bundesliga (2004). In the first Bundesliga he played a total of 15 games from 2004 to 2007 and scored 3 wins, 1 defeat and 11 draws. Since 2008 he has been back at his hometown club SV Dinslaken and was involved in all three promotions. Since 2012, SV Dinslaken has been playing in the NRW class for the first time in the club's history. In 2011 he won the NRW team cup with SV Dinslaken and took part in the German team blitz championships with the club in 2012 .

In the Dutch league, Christof Sielecki played from 1998 to 2004 for the Ensched club ESGOO . Since the 2008/09 season he has been playing for SV Voerendaal, with whom he won the Dutch team championship in 2012 . In 2011 he had already participated with his club in the European Cup in Rogaška Slatina and achieved the best individual result of his team. This result also meant the fulfillment of another standard and thus the award of the title of International Master , which took place in February 2012. Sielecki had already met the other two required standards in July 1997 at two tournaments in Kecskemét .

Sielecki has been active in the Belgian league since 1998, first at KSK Eupen in 1947, and later after the club merger with the multiple Belgian team champion KSK 47 Eynatten , where he is used for various teams. In 2006 and 2014 he was Belgian team champion with Eynatten, and in 2014 he also took part in the European Club Cup.

Since 2011, Sielecki has regularly published videos about chess on YouTube , mainly in English. For the Internet Chess Club (ICC) he produces a regular series of videos in German ( Der Eröffnungskompass ). He has been a full-time chess player and author since 2014.

Christof Sielecki's Elo number is 2433 (as of January 2019), his highest Elo number of 2451 he reached in December 2014 and again in March 2015.
