Christoph Bayer (* 6. November 1948 in Freiburg ) is a German politician of the SPD and was from 2001 to 2016 a member of the state parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg .

education and profession

After graduating from the Friedrich-Gymnasium Freiburg and an aborted study of Catholic theology , he studied social work at the Catholic University of Freiburg (diploma) and educational science at the University of Education Freiburg (diploma). In addition, he completed training as a systemic family therapist while working (Wnuck-Gette).

From 1974 to 1983 he was responsible for child and family work as well as urban development at the Freiburg youth meeting center; then from 1983 to 1987 in the Freiburg branch of the regional center for political education for events. From 1987 to 1991 he built up the ÖKO MOBIL Südbaden for the International Association for Social Work , where he was primarily responsible for the conception and implementation of courses for young people with poor education. From 1991 until his election to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg in 2001, he was responsible for youth care and assistance planning at the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district office.

As a part-time job, he worked for many years as a lecturer at the Catholic and Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Freiburg. Also at the Freiburg Nature School (focus: group pedagogy)

In addition to party politics, he is a founding member of the tri-national nuclear protection association TRAS and is involved in the church.

Political activity

Since April 17, 2001 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for constituency 48 (Breisgau) . During the 13th electoral term he was a member of the Study Commission on Demographic Change - Challenges to State Politics , in the 15th electoral term in the Committee for Culture, Youth and Sport and the Committee for Integration. In addition, he was education policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group until 2012. He did not run for the 2016 state election .

Family and private

Christoph Bayer is Roman Catholic . He has three sons and has a second marriage.
